Anchor’s Away

One of the most important things to learn while boating is how to anchor. At some point of time you may want to anchor to eat, swim, fish etc. In that case these tips will come in handy. First choose the right anchor, the most common of which are the fluke, plow and mushroom. While selecting an area to anchor it is important to pick one which offers shelter from wind. It is important to determine depth and bottom, in order to decipher how much rode you will require. Finally keep in mind never to anchor from the stern alone as it may cause the boat to capsize or swamp.
