Knowing Rowing

Rowing is a competitive boat sport, propelled by the force of oars and is done mostly on still waters keeping some disciplines in mind. Rowing is considered as one of the oldest sports in Olympics. It started in the late 1430 BC by a very sport loving Egyptian warrior named Amenhotep. The boats used in this sport are broadly semi circular, long and narrow. Different types of boats are used such as single skull, double skull, queep, fours, eights, pairs, etc. The boats are either coxed or coxless. The boats are often called shells. For training purposes the rowers usually take the help of an indoor rowing machine known as the ergometer.
