Rain isn’t a worry or an issue for inland boating fans as the breeze is mild and does not overturn the yacht or boats. The basic problem that many boaters face is the winter months where due to the freezing conditions the kettles might freeze and the fuel might dry out. Boating in the Kashmir Valley
“If there is heaven on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here...”
The great Mughal Emperor Jahangir was certainly not wrong when he described the valley. Srinagar is known for the Dal Lake, especially for the boating facilities available on it. Unlike its counterparts in Kerala, the house boats on the Dal Lake are moored at the edges of the lake. Such kind of boating started in the early 1900s for tourists and is still available. Since these house boats are fixed to shores of the lake, small taxi boats are used to ferry tourists from the house boat to other parts of the lake. It is but certain that these house boats are considered ‘floating palaces’.

Boating Lessons
Boating can be a leisure activity, a sports activity or even a commercial activity. However an activity that looks so simple isn’t all that easy. It requires a lot of endurance and stamina and most importantly proper coaching.
Proper coaching is necessary for any type of boating. Without the guidance of a professional it could be dangerous to venture out alone, especially in rapid flowing water.
There are institutes that give proper coaching and one must consult these institutes before venturing out.
Before joining any of these institutes one must confirm if they are certified trainers or not and whether they teach you even the smallest details like understanding the flow of water, change in wind patterns etc.
