Basic safety tips

Sailing is one of the most dangerous activities on water. Lives are lost every year because of recklessness, inexperience and speeding. Alcohol or drugs should never be used during or before boating. Life jackets should always be worn on or kept within easy reach while boating. Some boats big enough should also have personal floating devices or PFD's according to law. Fire extinguishers should be onboard in case of a fire or electrical short circuit. People should never set sail in or before bad weather. People underestimate the ocean and its force. So if people don't know the difference between Starboard and Port, they don't belong on a boat
